Somewhere along the line the internet decided it was a good idea to make every single list-style post into a slideshow. SEO and clicks and bounce rates all won out and every time you see a Top 10 Super Interesting Things list, you need to click through 3 ads and 9 not-so-interesting things before you actually get to what you want.
People love lists. Do you know why? Because they are LISTS! They are things, in a line, that you can read quickly and easily. Slideshows, on the other hand, are the equivalent to watching a Power Point presentation at a trade show. I say do away with these miserable things entirely. But at least Mashable gives you the option. Well done, Cashmore!
